About
Chloe Macaulay is an artist based in Boston, MA. She earned her BFA in Painting and Art History from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating magna cum laude and receiving the Hazel H. Huntsinger Memorial Prize in Painting.

Her oil painting practice is rooted in materially driven processes that embody the layering of skin and body, reflecting her experiences with Classical Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Her research draws from art history, philosophy, and the sciences to explore the connections between art and medicine. Fragile internal networks and incidental biological mimicry inform her intuitive biomorphic abstractions, through which she investigates the psychological and physical dimensions of enduring pain, fear, and resilience.

Chloe’s work has recently been featured in the group exhibitions Keepsake at the Des Lee Gallery in St. Louis and Adrenaline Junkie at the Norman Rea Gallery in York, UK, as well as in Exile, a solo exhibition presented by the Philosophy Department at Washington University in St. Louis.
